Play Wordle in Virtual Reality Now

A native app for Wordle is now available on Meta Quest, enabling users to play the game in virtual reality. This free application is accessible on Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, and Meta Quest Pro.

According to screenshots and a video shared by Meta, the VR version of the game maintains the original Wordle format, allowing players six attempts to guess a five-letter word. This development offers enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy the game as an app on their Quest devices.

Jonathan Knight, General Manager of NYT Games, noted in an interview featured in Meta’s blog post that the collaboration aims to explore innovative technologies and new formats, such as mixed reality, to create engaging experiences. He emphasized that Wordle, with its simple and user-friendly interface, is particularly suited for a virtual environment.

The New York Times has been queried about the potential inclusion of other games on the Quest platform. If Connections is introduced, precautions may be necessary to prevent mishaps with thrown headsets.
