Substack has introduced a new feature allowing creators to stream live videos, offering additional methods for audience engagement.
When creators initiate a live stream, subscribers will receive immediate notifications. Streams can be made accessible to everyone, all subscribers, or exclusively to paid subscribers, as outlined in a blog post by the company. Additionally, creators have the ability to invite other creators to join their live streams for collaborative efforts. Upon conclusion of the live videos, the recordings will be saved as post drafts, enabling future use in posts.
This live streaming functionality is being gradually rolled out within the Substack app. Currently, it is available to “bestsellers”—creators with a significant number of subscribers—through the mobile app. The company has plans to extend this feature to all Substack users over the coming months. Users who do not yet have access can request early access from Substack.
