MagSafe grips are just one type among several available phone grip options. There are four other main types of grips that consumers can consider.
Cases with attached grips are a variety where the grip is affixed directly to the back of the phone case. These offer a strong and durable hold that is unlikely to detach, but they add bulk to the phone. Additionally, these cases are generally incompatible with wireless charging and might not be suitable for use with other MagSafe accessories.
Clamp-style grips, also known as universal phone grips, can be clamped onto any phone, allowing for easy attachment and removal. They are versatile as they do not cater to specific phone models. However, they are not the quickest to install or remove and may sometimes slide along the phone.
Adhesive grips are designed to stick to the back of a phone or case, providing a secure attachment. While these grips generally remain firmly fixed, they share similar drawbacks with cases featuring attached grips. They can obstruct features like wireless charging and may limit the use of additional accessories.
MagSafe grips are favored for their convenience, allowing easy attachment and removal, but they only function with devices or cases that include built-in magnets. While a phone can hang securely from a MagSafe grip, applying additional force might cause the magnets to disengage, potentially causing the phone to fall.
