American Public Education, Inc. Joins DoD Partnership Promoting Military Spouse Employment

American Public Education, Inc. (APEI) has announced its partnership with the U.S. Department of Defense’s Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP) as part of its ongoing commitment to military spouses. APEI, a reputable provider of online higher education to the military and public-service communities, aims to recruit, hire, promote, and retain military spouses through this collaboration. The partnership was celebrated at an induction ceremony in Virginia and brings the total number of MSEP employers to roughly 700. APEI recognizes the unique skill sets possessed by military spouses and aims to support them in overcoming the challenges they face in today’s workplace.

APEI’s commitment to supporting military spouses aligns with its core values and mission. The company is dedicated to serving those who serve and their families. As a wholly owned subsidiary of APEI, American Public University System (APUS) offers accessible and affordable online programs for military and public-service communities. APUS has recently introduced the Veteran Tuition Grant program, which grants a 10% discount on education programs to veterans and their families. APEI’s partnership with MSEP further validates its commitment to serving military spouses and their families while providing them with opportunities for career advancement and education.

Founded in 1991, APUS initially focused on distance learning for military officers. Today, it serves approximately 89,300 adult learners worldwide. APEI also includes institutions like Rasmussen University, which specializes in nursing and health sciences, Hondros College of Nursing, which educates pre-licensure nursing students, and Graduate School USA, a leading training provider to the federal workforce. In summary, APEI’s partnership with MSEP demonstrates the company’s dedication to supporting military spouses and their inclusion in the workforce, while also providing them with accessible and affordable education opportunities.
