Delta Air Lines has expanded its presence at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) with the opening of 13 additional gates on Concourse A. This expansion is part of the airport’s ongoing project called “The New SLC,” and with the completion of this phase, Delta now has a total of 50 operational gates at the airport. The expansion also includes a new Delta help center, 19 new restaurants and shops, and improved passenger amenities strategically placed to enhance the overall travel experience. The completion of Concourse A and the additional gates will provide efficient services and modern facilities for travelers at Salt Lake City International Airport.
Salt Lake City International Airport is a key hub for Delta Airlines, with 237 daily flights serving nearly 30,000 customers at its peak during the fall of 2023. Delta has invested approximately $12 billion over the past decade to enhance the airport experience and make travel seamless and comfortable for its customers. The completion of Concourse A comes just in time for the busy holiday and ski travel season. Adam Ryan, the Managing Director of Delta’s SLC Operations, highlights the privilege of sharing this state-of-the-art facility with customers and continuing to provide the elevated experience expected from Delta.
Delta’s commitment to Salt Lake City is evident through its long-term lease agreement worth $2.8 billion, which ensures its presence and benefits the local and state economy. The airline has also recently started construction on a state-of-the-art pilot training facility, further demonstrating its commitment to the city. Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall expresses gratitude for Delta’s partnership and emphasizes that these investments in the capital city will make it easier for residents to explore the world and create world-class facilities they can be proud of upon their return.
