Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, intensified his language with a warning of a “crushing response” to the nation’s adversaries, including the United States, following a missile strike by Israel on Iran a week earlier.
According to state television, Khamenei stated in a speech in Tehran on Saturday that any actions against Iran and the Resistance Front by enemies, be they the Zionist regime or the United States, would result in a retaliatory response. While he did not provide specific details, Khamenei emphasized that any hostile activities against the Islamic Republic “wouldn’t be forgotten.”
This statement is potentially in reference to an attack by Israel on October 26 targeting military sites in Iran, resulting in the deaths of five individuals, including a civilian. The assault involved over 100 Israeli fighter jets. However, there was no confirmation of substantial damage to strategic oil or nuclear installations.
These comments came after Khamenei’s earlier more tempered response to the Israeli strike, which he labeled a “miscalculation.” At that time, he advised against either exaggerating or downplaying the attack’s significance and refrained from making specific retaliation threats.
