Seton Hall University’s Stillman School of Business recently hosted its annual Finance Networking Forum, attracting over 130 students and 55 industry professionals. The event provided an opportunity for students to connect with professionals in areas such as wealth management, banking, financial services, and major corporations. According to Mark Schild, the Associate Dean of the Stillman School of Business, attending the event allows students to practice their communication skills and learn more about potential career paths. Students expressed the value of the event in terms of making personal connections and having longer conversations, which can lead to future opportunities.
The Finance Networking Forum is open to all Seton Hall majors, alumni, and faculty, with many participating professionals being alumni themselves. Alumni, like Lauren Galan, who works at Goldman Sachs as a Global Market Associate, enjoy coming back to their Alma Mater to help students of non-traditional finance backgrounds navigate their careers. Another senior financial mathematics major, Leiya Istambouli, found the event comfortable and welcoming, as everyone who attended was from Seton Hall. Michele Henson, an alumna with years of experience in the industry, highlighted the importance of these networking events in building a solid foundation for building a career. It is highly encouraged for students from all majors and class years to take part in such networking opportunities to connect with professionals and gain valuable advice about different career paths.
For more networking opportunities and resources, students can visit the Career Center website and engage with their social media platforms.
