Arab Americans Consider Voting Influence in Michigan: Code Switch, NPR

The upcoming presidential election is anticipated to be very close, potentially determined by a small number of votes in critical swing states. A visit to Michigan offered insights into some of the most influential yet often misunderstood voters in the nation: Arab Americans in Dearborn. The residents of Dearborn expressed that the ongoing conflict in Gaza is a significant issue influencing their voting decisions in the coming weeks. However, how this concern will translate into voting preference remains uncertain. They may choose Kamala Harris, Donald Trump, a third-party candidate, or opt not to vote at all. The final decision of these voters could have substantial implications for the entire country.

This report was compiled by Gene Demby and Colin Jackson from Michigan Public, with James Willetts serving as the engineer.
