19 US AI Startups Raising $100M+ in 2025

In the preceding year, the AI industry experienced significant growth both in the U.S. and internationally. According to TechCrunch, 49 AI startups in 2024 secured funding rounds of $100 million or more; notably, three companies achieved more than one "megaround," and seven others raised rounds valued at $1 billion or higher.

Looking ahead, 2025 shows promising signs of continuing this trend, as several billion-dollar rounds have already been closed this year. In the first quarter of 2025, the U.S. saw an increased number of AI megarounds compared to the same period in 2024.

The following are U.S. AI companies that have secured $100 million in funding in 2025:

April

1. SandboxAQ completed a $450 million Series E round on April 4, valuing the company at $5.7 billion. Investors included Nvidia, Google, and Ray Dalio, among others.
2. Runway, known for its AI models for media production, raised $308 million in a Series D round announced on April 3, with a valuation of $3 billion. The round was led by General Atlantic, with contributions from SoftBank, Nvidia, and Fidelity.

March

1. OpenAI raised $40 billion on March 31 in a record-breaking round led by SoftBank, elevating the startup’s value to $300 billion. Other participants included Thrive Capital, Microsoft, and Coatue.
2. Nexthop AI announced a $110 million Series A round on March 25, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, along with Kleiner Perkins, Battery Ventures, and Emergent Ventures.
3. Insilico Medicine secured $110 million on March 13 for its AI-driven drug discovery platform. The Series E round, co-led by Value Partners and Pudong Chuangtou, valued the company at $1 billion.
4. Celestial AI raised a $250 million Series C round on March 11, valuing it at $2.5 billion. Fidelity led the round, with participation from Tiger Global, BlackRock, and Lip-Bu Tan.
5. Lila Sciences raised $200 million in a seed round aiming to develop a science superintelligence platform, led by Flagship Pioneering.
6. Reflection.Ai obtained $130 million in a Series A round, valued at $580 million, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and CRV.
7. Turing closed a $111 million Series E round on March 7, valuing the AI coding startup at $2.2 billion. The round was led by Khazanah Nasional.
8. Shield AI raised $240 million in a Series F round on March 6, co-led by L3Harris Technologies and Hanwha Aerospace, valuing the company at $5.3 billion.
9. Anthropic garnered $3.5 billion in a Series E round announced on March 3, with a valuation of $61.5 billion, led by Lightspeed.

February

1. Together AI, focused on open-source generative AI infrastructure, raised $305 million in a Series B round on February 20, co-led by Prosperity7 and General Catalyst.
2. Lambda announced a $480 million Series D round on February 19, valuing the AI infrastructure company at nearly $2.5 billion.
3. Abridge secured $250 million in a Series D round on February 17, co-led by IVP and Elad Gil, valuing the company at $2.75 billion.
4. Eudia raised $105 million in a Series A round that concluded on February 13, led by General Catalyst.
5. EnCharge AI raised $100 million in a Series B round that also concluded on February 13, led by Tiger Global.
6. Harvey secured $300 million in a Series D round announced on February 12, valued at $3 billion.

January

1. ElevenLabs raised $180 million in a Series C round on January 30, valuing the synthetic voice startup at more than $3 billion.
2. Hippocratic AI announced a $141 million Series B round on January 9, valuing the company at over $1.6 billion.
