Adobe Previews AI Tools for Text Animation and Distraction Removal

Adobe is currently showcasing several experimental AI tools designed for animation, image generation, and enhancing the quality of videos and photographs, which may eventually be integrated into its Creative Cloud applications.

These tools, applicable across various media platforms, share a common objective: to automate intricate and tedious content creation tasks while offering creators greater control than simply inputting prompts into an AI generator. The aim is to facilitate the creation of animations, images, and complex video edits without extensive time or expertise.

The first tool, known as “Project Scenic,” enhances user control over images produced by Adobe’s Firefly model. Rather than depending exclusively on text prompts, Scenic creates a 3D scene that enables users to add, reposition, and resize objects. The resulting scene is then used as a reference to generate a corresponding 2D image.

Following this is “Project Motion,” a dual-step tool that simplifies the creation of animated graphics in various styles. Initially, it offers an animation builder enabling users to apply motion effects to text and simple images without prior animation experience. Subsequently, the animated video can be modified using text descriptions and reference images to include color, texture, and background elements.

“Project Clean Machine” is an editing tool that automatically eliminates unwanted distractions such as camera flashes and unexpected background individuals in images and videos. It functions similarly to an advanced content-aware fill by addressing visual disturbances and ensuring consistent color and lighting, even when overexposed elements like fireworks are removed.

These tools are introduced at Adobe’s MAX conference as “Sneaks,” representing in-progress projects intended to demonstrate new technologies and assess public interest. While there is no certainty of a Sneak reaching full release, features such as Photoshop’s Distraction Removal and Content-Aware Fill in After Effects originated from these initiatives.

Previews of these tools were made available ahead of their official reveal. Additional demonstrations are expected later today. Although the tools are currently not accessible to the public, availability may expand in the upcoming months.
