An unboxing video uploaded to YouTube last week provided the first hands-on look at Anker’s new 140W wall charger. The charger is notable for being the first from the company to include an integrated display that shows the power draw from each of its four USB ports.
Earlier this month, details and an image of the charger were leaked on the Anker subreddit by user joshuadwx. The Zolo wall charger will reportedly offer a maximum output of 140W, distributed across three USB-C ports and one USB-A port. Two of the USB-C ports can charge devices at up to 140W if they are used exclusively, while the remaining USB-C and USB-A ports can deliver 40W and 33W of power, respectively.
Weighing 350 grams, this charger is heavier than other four-port models from Anker, such as the smaller Anker 747 Charger (GaNPrime 150W), which also offers higher power output.
The nine-minute unboxing video shared by Xiao Li TV validates several of the charger’s features, including its total power delivery of 140W, folding prongs, Zolo branding, the power output capabilities of each port, and a screen that shows a sleeping face when no power is being drawn.
Additionally, the video confirms that all USB ports are located on the downward-facing side of the Zolo. Anker has previously addressed issues with heavy chargers that struggle to stay plugged into wall outlets by redesigning products with a center of gravity closer to the wall and textured prongs for better grip. Positioning the ports on the underside of this charger is potentially another method to prevent it from falling out of an outlet.
There is still no information regarding the pricing or global launch date for the Zolo charger, though the leaked video suggests a debut could be imminent.
