Bose’s SoundLink Home: One of Its Best-Looking Wireless Speakers

Bose has introduced a new product in its established SoundLink series of wireless speakers. Unlike many of Bose’s rugged and colorful speakers designed to withstand sand and water exposure, the new $219 SoundLink Home is crafted from materials such as anodized aluminum and a fabric speaker cover, giving it a more sophisticated appearance suitable for home environments.

The SoundLink Home offers a battery life of up to nine hours following a four-hour charge via its USB-C port, which also functions as an audio input for wired connections to devices like laptops. The speaker features Bluetooth 5.3 technology, providing a wireless range of approximately 30 feet, and it is compatible with other speakers in the SoundLink line for stereo sound. However, it does not include Wi-Fi capabilities, meaning it does not support AirPlay like some other Bose speakers.

Available in cool gray or light silver, the SoundLink Home is designed primarily for indoor use. It lacks dust and water resistance, making it potentially unsuitable for use in areas such as the kitchen. The device is equipped with a microphone, allowing it to function as a speakerphone or interface with a smart assistant on a connected device.
