Jack Sweeney, known for his @ElonJet account on X and other suspended accounts, commented on Threads about recent developments, stating that they are “reminiscent of all my accounts getting suspended on Twitter.” The accounts in question, which utilized publicly available data to track private jet flight paths, initially displayed a message indicating that the link followed might be broken or the page might have been removed.
According to Sweeney, Meta did not provide any direct warning or explanation for the suspensions. He mentioned that the accounts appeared “blacked out with no options to interact or receive information.” However, in a statement to TechCrunch, an unnamed Meta spokesperson explained that “given the risk of physical harm to individuals, and in keeping with the independent Oversight Board’s recommendation, we’ve disabled these accounts for violating our privacy policy.”
