Elon Musk to Campaign for Trump in Pennsylvania, Crucial Swing State

Elon Musk is planning to spend the remainder of the week supporting former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania, a crucial swing state for the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

Musk does not intend to give public speeches but will instead conduct a “series of talks” in the state. These events will be free for attendees who have voted and signed a petition circulated by Musk’s America PAC. Pennsylvania’s early voting began on October 15th. Musk’s super PAC, to which he claims to have contributed $75 million, is offering voters in swing states $47 for each registered voter who signs the petition. This practice has been reported as legal.

Musk, who has shown keen interest in issues related to immigration and birth rates in recent years and has frequently discussed the great replacement conspiracy theory, may have found a political ally in Trump. Earlier in the month, Musk spoke at Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where an incident involving gunfire occurred in July. According to the New York Times, Musk is described as being intensely focused on the election’s implications in private discussions. Previously, the two appeared to be at odds, with Trump suggesting he could have compelled Musk to beg for government contracts, while Trump has also indicated he might reevaluate tax credits for electric vehicles if reelected, potentially affecting Musk’s business interests.

Musk, considered one of the significant beneficiaries of government spending in the U.S., has much at stake in the election. However, it is likely that he will continue to receive federal funding irrespective of the election outcome, which reduces the potential risk of supporting Trump.
