Hades II Introduces New Location and Pets

The first significant update for Hades II, which remains in early access, has been released. This update, known as "The Olympic Update," introduces a new region, the sixth and final weapon, new pets, and native support for Macs with M1 chips, along with various other enhancements.

A notable feature of this update is the introduction of a new region, hinted at by the update’s title. Though details are scarce for those unfamiliar with the game, the update’s release trailer features a boss that players will encounter and hints at exploration opportunities. Additionally, players can now wield the new weapon, "Xinth, the Black Coat."

The update also includes several other features. Supergiant Games has introduced two animal familiars, a bird and a dog, which can be interacted with in-game. Players can now receive boons from Athena and Dionysus, characters who were present in the original Hades. The update brings new music, praised for its quality, as featured in the accompanying trailer.

Looking ahead, Supergiant Games plans to introduce a "climactic confrontation" following the new region, more boons, and new enemies. The next significant update from the company is expected to be released in early 2025.
