ZeroZero Robotics has introduced a new contender in the subcategory of small, pocket-sized camera drones designed specifically for capturing selfies. The HoverAir X1 ProMax stands out as a remarkable model in this category. It boasts an effortlessly portable design, making other drones such as the DJI Mini 4 Pro appear cumbersome in comparison. Weighing a mere 6.79 ounces, featuring a smart folding design, and being encased in a protective cage to safeguard the propellers, the X1 ProMax can easily fit into a coat pocket or backpack without concern of damage, making it an ideal companion for day trips or vacations.
The operation of the X1 ProMax is notably straightforward. Users simply remove it from its storage place, unfold it, activate the power by pressing the button, choose their preferred selfie video style using the left and right buttons, position the drone on their palm facing them, and tap the power button once more. The drone then takes off, captures the desired footage or photo, and subsequently returns to its original position on the user’s palm.
This entire process can be completed in approximately 30 seconds, providing users with a unique means of enhancing their content effortlessly. Whether capturing a rapid video segment from a scenic location or having the drone follow a bike ride along the coast, the X1 ProMax performs efficiently and reliably. It is capable of auto-following a subject at speeds up to 26 mph, demonstrating dependable performance in various test scenarios, whether on foot or cycling.
Additionally, this drone offers a seamless transfer of footage and photos to smartphones through Wi-Fi 6, using the X1 Hover app. This application allows users to adjust settings, update firmware, and manually control the drone via onscreen controls.
The X1 ProMax’s camera capabilities are noteworthy, with the ability to record 8K video at up to 30 frames per second, 4K HDR video at up to 30 fps, 4K video at up to 60 fps, and 2.7K HDR video at up to 60 fps. It also supports 4X slow-motion playback through recordings in 4K or 1080p at up to 120 fps. For still photography, the camera offers 12 MP and 48 MP resolutions.
