Google’s initial leak for the fall season has emerged, showcasing new renders of its forthcoming Pixel 9A. Similar to the earlier leak of the Pixel 8A this year, images of Google’s next budget A-series release have been obtained by Android Headlines, sourced through OnLeaks. OnLeaks was also responsible for the recent disclosure of the Pixel 9 series.
The leak indicates a significant design change for the Pixel 9A, which will reportedly not include Google’s distinctive visor-style camera housing. Instead, the device is expected to feature a dual-camera setup in a pill-shaped module that aligns nearly flush with the phone’s back. A camera flash will be positioned to the right, akin to a magnified rear view of an iPhone 7 Plus. The rest of the phone’s design appears to be consistent with other Pixel 9 devices and contemporary iPhones, featuring slim bezels around the screen.
According to Android Headlines, the Pixel 9A may come with Android 15 and could be the final Google device to utilize a Samsung-based Tensor chip, before transitioning to TSMC for processors in 2025. Google’s A-series phones are typically launched in the spring, often during the Google I/O event, so further details may not be available for some time.
