Leidos, a science and technology leader, has been awarded a $180 million contract by the Defense Health Agency (DHA) to provide new virtual health capabilities for healthcare providers and patients. The contract, awarded by DHA’s Program Executive Office Defense Healthcare Management Systems, aims to enhance patient experience and improve outcomes through the implementation of digital technology. Under the contract, Leidos Partnership for Defense Health will replace the Military Health System’s Video Connect solution with Amwell’s Converge platform. The platform will offer self-guided wellness and behavioral health support, allowing patients to access medical care and advice from any location.
Leidos and Amwell’s integrated platform solutions will not only help reduce burdens on care teams but also improve the mental health and wellness of beneficiaries. By implementing advanced digital health capabilities, the companies aim to reduce healthcare costs and optimize the use of DHA’s clinical resources across their global enterprise. The contract will span a 22-month period and if all options are exercised, will have a total value of $180 million.
