According to a report from Axios, Meta has announced that banking executive and former presidential advisor Dina Powell McCormick, along with Stripe co-founder and CEO Patrick Collison, will be joining its board.
Dina Powell McCormick has a background with Goldman Sachs, where she held various leadership positions over a 16-year period. She also served as Deputy National Security Advisor to President Donald J. Trump during his first administration. Patrick Collison, who co-founded the digital payments company Stripe with his brother John in 2010, now oversees a company recently valued at $91.5 billion.
These appointments are part of Meta’s strategy to expand its board with more global business experts as it seeks to improve its relationship with the Trump administration. This move comes in anticipation of an upcoming antitrust trial set to begin on Monday, as reported by Axios.
Patrick Collison has previously been involved with Meta’s advisory group, while Dina Powell McCormick will be a newcomer to the company. Both appointments will take effect on April 15.
