New Feature Allows Brands to Customize Emails and Calls on iPhones

Apple is set to enable businesses to customize their appearance in emails and phone calls on iPhones. The company recently announced that businesses utilizing its Business Connect tool will soon be able to incorporate their brand name and logo into iPhone apps used for email, phone calls, and payments.

Registered businesses will have the opportunity to verify and update their information, as well as add extra details such as photos or special offers. Having a repository of verified, current business information may prove advantageous for Apple should it decide to launch its own search engine or integrate features for Apple Intelligence, rather than directing users to external platforms like Google, Yelp, or Meta.

A feature called Branded Mail is now available for businesses to sign up for, with user access expected later this year. This feature aims to enhance the visibility of emails by identifying the sender among numerous unread messages. Gmail has similarly introduced features like authenticated brand logos and verification checkmarks to indicate whether an email is from a verified source.

Moreover, Apple will introduce a Business Caller ID feature allowing businesses to display their name, logo, and department on the iPhone’s incoming call screen. This enhancement is designed to help identify whether incoming calls are from legitimate businesses or potential spam, and it will be available from next year.

Additionally, an update to Apple’s Tap to Pay service will allow companies to display their logo while accepting payments, instead of the generic category icon currently used.
