OnePlus May Also Abandon Curved Edges

The upcoming flagship phone from OnePlus appears to have adopted a flat design, which is seen positively in some quarters. An alleged image of the unreleased OnePlus 13 was reportedly posted on Weibo but was subsequently removed after being noticed by 9to5Google. The image depicted the phone with flat sides, diverging from the curved edges seen in recent OnePlus models. Although a minor alteration, this shift aligns OnePlus with numerous other manufacturers opting for the flat edge design, considered by some to be more comfortable.

Whether this design choice is significant for most users, who typically encase their phones right away, might be debatable. However, for those deeply engaged in the smartphone industry, it holds relevance. Straight edges are often perceived as more comfortable to hold, easier to pick up from flat surfaces, and aesthetically pleasing. This design trend, reminiscent of iPhones, seems to have become commonplace across various models.

It is anticipated that more details regarding the OnePlus 13’s design will be revealed soon, as the company is expected to launch the device in China sometime this month.
