Google’s NotebookLM Android and iOS apps are anticipated to be released on May 20, according to app store listings. These apps are currently available for preorder.
Since its launch in 2023, the AI-driven note-taking and research assistant has been accessible only via desktop. Google is preparing to extend the service to mobile devices.
NotebookLM is crafted to assist students, professionals, and researchers in comprehending complex information through features like smart summaries and the capability to ask questions about documents and other materials. The tool also allows users to create AI-generated podcasts, known as Audio Overviews, to facilitate understanding of intricate topics.
Screenshots from app listings suggest that the dedicated apps will enable users to create new notebooks and access existing ones. Users can upload new sources from their devices and view previously uploaded ones within each notebook. Additionally, the apps will allow listening to the generated Audio Overviews while on the move.
The apps will also be accessible on iPads and tablets, offering a larger screen for multitasking.
Users can choose to preorder the app on the App Store or preregister on Google Play. The app will be automatically downloaded to their devices on May 20.
Given that the apps are expected to launch on the first day of Google I/O, it is likely that the tech giant will provide further information about them at the annual conference.
