Signing Up for Amazon Prime in 2024

Time indeed passes quickly. Recently, attention was focused on Amazon’s July sales event, and now the company is preparing for its fall Prime Day deals. Amazon has announced that its two-day sales event for Prime subscribers will commence at 12:01 AM PT / 3:01 AM ET on Tuesday, October 8th, and continue through Wednesday, October 9th.

For those interested in the deals but not yet signed up for Amazon Prime, the process is straightforward. Amazon offers many features to attract new Prime members beyond just Prime Day bargains. These benefits include access to its streaming service, Prime Video (which no longer offers ad-free viewing but has an ad-free option), expedited shipping (with two-day, one-day, and even same-day delivery for certain items), same-day delivery for select groceries from Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods, ad-free audio streaming via Amazon Music (distinct from Amazon Music Unlimited, which costs $9.99 per month for Prime members and $10.99 for non-members), and Prime Gaming, which includes a free Twitch channel subscription.

Additionally, Prime membership offers unlimited photo storage (plus 5GB of video storage) and access to Prime Reading, which includes a rotating collection of comics, books, and magazines, as well as early access to select new books. Users can share their Prime account and most of its features with one other adult, up to four teens, and four children. A 30-day free trial is available, allowing new users to explore the service and take advantage of Prime Day specials.

It is also possible to sign up for Prime, utilize the free 30-day trial, and then cancel the membership after the Prime Day sales end. However, this can only be done once per user.
