The online dating landscape is evolving as major platforms, including Tinder, introduce AI-driven interactions. On Tuesday, Tinder revealed a new game in collaboration with OpenAI, designed to enable users to engage with an AI bot. This experience allows them to practice flirting, simulate meet-cute scenarios, and receive evaluations along with suggestions to enhance their dating capabilities.
To access Tinder’s new feature, The Game Game, users can tap on the Tinder logo located in the top-left corner of the app. The game presents participants with a deck of cards, each displaying a distinct AI persona and scenario. Users are encouraged to use their voices to converse and attempt to secure a virtual date with the AI bot.
Following the interaction, users receive scores on a three-point scale symbolized by flame emojis. The AI offers real-time feedback throughout the session; for instance, if users display rudeness, the AI provides recommendations to improve the dialogue.
According to Tinder, the goal of this new game is to deliver a fun and light-hearted experience that should not be taken too seriously. It is currently available to U.S. users on iOS for a limited period.
The phenomenon of individuals flirting with AI bots is gaining significant traction, and Tinder appears to be leveraging this trend to entice more users amid its growth challenges. Existing applications in this sector include AI dating simulators like Replika’s Blush, Teaser, and Rizz.
Additionally, Tinder has recently launched other AI-based features, such as an AI photo selection tool that debuted last year, along with upcoming functionalities aimed at enhancing user discovery and matchmaking experiences.
