Wyze Unveils Budget Smart Scale Featuring Large Color Screen

The Wyze Scale Ultra, featuring a 4.3-inch color TFT screen, has been introduced as one of the brand’s more expensive smart scales, priced at $43.99. Despite its cost, it remains significantly cheaper than products from other companies, such as Withings. The scale is available for purchase directly from Wyze or through Amazon, and it comes in both white and black colors.

This new scale from Wyze is capable of tracking 13 different health metrics, including heart rate, metabolic age (a comparison of how the body burns calories at rest relative to others of the same age), and different measurements of fat, muscle, and water.

Earlier models of Wyze’s smart scales were equipped with basic segmented LED displays that showed information like weight, BMI, and muscle mass, with more detailed health metrics provided via a mobile app. However, the Wyze Scale Ultra offers the ability to display more comprehensive data, such as changes in weight or body fat over time. The displayed information is customizable according to user preference.

Like the Wyze Scale X released in 2022, the Scale Ultra includes modes for weighing pets, babies, or luggage, along with a pregnancy mode that disables the weak electrical current used for bioelectric impedance analysis (BIA) to ensure safety.

The Wyze Scale Ultra supports both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity and can automatically recognize and sync health metrics for up to eight users. These metrics can be synced with its mobile app or external platforms such as Apple Health, Google Fit, and Fitbit. The device operates on four AA batteries, which Wyze claims can power the scale for up to nine months, as it is not rechargeable.
