Universal Music Taiwan appoints William Hsieh as Managing Director

Universal Music Greater China (UMGC) has announced the appointment of William Hsieh as the Managing Director of Universal Music Taiwan and Senior Vice President of UMGC. Hsieh brings a wealth of experience from various industries, including interactive fitness tech and wellness studio chains. He will report directly to Timothy Xu, the Chairman and CEO of UMGC. Hsieh’s appointment comes shortly after Xu joined UMGC, and it reflects the company’s commitment to expanding and innovating in the Taiwan market.

Hsieh’s career spans music, sports, and gaming, making him a valuable addition to UMGC. His expertise includes international and domestic repertoire marketing, artist management, and strategic business development. This appointment follows a series of recent hires at UMGC, including Carol Ding as Senior Vice President and Head of Digital and Commercial, and Nan Jin as Head of Communications. Xu expressed enthusiasm about Hsieh joining the management team and emphasized his confidence in Hsieh’s ability to spearhead business expansion and growth in the Taiwan market, as well as the broader Chinese music scene.
