Rosalynn Carter, Former First Lady, Receives At-Home Hospice Care

Former first lady Rosalynn Carter, 96, and former President Jimmy Carter, 99, are both receiving hospice care at their home in Plains, Georgia. Rosalynn’s recent move into hospice care comes after an announcement earlier this year that she has dementia. The Carter family has requested privacy and expressed appreciation for the outpouring of love and support.

In addition, the Carters have enjoyed a long and enduring marriage of more than 77 years. They both recently made a public appearance at a festival in their hometown, riding in a black SUV at the Plains Peanut Festival. Jimmy Carter is the oldest living American president at 99 years old and it was announced earlier this year that he would enter hospice at home after a series of hospital stays. He was previously diagnosed with cancer in 2015, but was later declared cancer-free.

Despite facing health challenges in recent years, the Carters have been leaning on each other and their family for support, spending precious time together during this period as they continue to be surrounded by the love of their family and well-wishers.
