Anker’s new Liberty NC wireless earbuds offer an impressive range of features and solid sound quality at an affordable price of $100. These earbuds provide a futuristic and flashy look, with a variety of color options and a well-built matte exterior case that supports Qi-charging. The design is reminiscent of Apple’s AirPods Pro, but with a more conspicuous appearance due to the stem-shaped design. However, the touch controls on the Liberty NC earbuds can be finicky and less intuitive compared to premium brands.
Despite some quirks, the Soundcore app provides extensive control over the earbuds’ features, surpassing most earbuds in this price range. Users can choose between adaptive active noise canceling, two versions of transparency mode, and even a wind buffering feature to prevent loud wind noises while using transparency mode. The app also includes a multiband EQ, sound customization settings, a latency reducer for gaming, and LDAC high-resolution streaming for supported Android phones. Additionally, the Liberty NC earbuds offer a Safe Volume feature that monitors and limits playback volume, making it suitable for those who like to listen to music at high volumes.
However, some features may not work as expected, such as the battery life claims. While Anker claims 10 hours of playback time and 50 hours with the charging case, actual battery life may be shorter when using energy-draining features like noise canceling. Additionally, the lack of granularity between volume levels can be slightly annoying for some users. Nevertheless, the Liberty NC earbuds still provide around 6 to 7 hours of playback time with ANC, which is respectable for their price range.
